Continuing its journey into the world of independent watchmakers, Louis Vuitton unveils the LVKV-02 GMR 6 watch in collaboration with the Voutilainen workshop. A fusion of exceptional watchmaking savoir-faire, this encounter marks a special moment in the history of both Houses.

Chapter 1

A Watchmaking Creation Steeped in Heritage

Designed and developed in collaboration with Master Watchmaker Kari Voutilainen, the LVKV-02 GMR 6 timepiece combines the unique talents of the Voutilainen workshop with those of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, for a limited-edition collection of five pieces.

Inspired by the 2024 Louis Vuitton Escale aesthetic, the LVKV-02 GMR 6 features a tantalum case enhanced with platinum accents. With a diameter of 40.5 mm and a thickness of 12.44 mm, the case was crafted through a process supervised by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton.

Chapter 2

A Caliber Crafted with Precision and Expertise

Showcasing exquisite craftsmanship, the GMR 6 caliber is designed and hand-crafted within the Voutilainen workshop and adorned with traditional finishes, including artisanal “Côtes de Genève” and perlage – reflecting meticulous attention to detail.

Each movement is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, its barrel cover adorned with a kaleidoscopic motif in miniature painting, visible through the transparent caseback.
Chapter 3

An Exceptional Dial Combining the Talents of Two Houses

The center of the gold dial showcases hand-guillochage, executed with dexterity and passion by artisans at the Brodbeck guillochage workshop on machines dating back to the 18th century — drawing a unique, intricate pattern inspired by the Louis Vuitton Damier and Kari Voutilainen's signature wave motif. Uniting two legacies, the dial is inscribed with “LVOUTILAINEN”, a tribute to the collaboration between both ateliers.

Reminiscent of historic stained glass windows, the hours circle is hand-painted with a palette of 28 different colors. Crafted by master painter Maryna Bossy at La Fabrique des Arts, it requires over 32 hours of scrupulous work.

Chapter 4

An Emblematic Trunk, Celebrating the Art of Travel

In homage to the House's spirit of travel, the watch is presented in an exclusive trunk — brought to life at Louis Vuitton’s historic Asnières workshop and embellished with a hand-painted design echoing the dial.

The LVKV-02 GMR 6 watch embodies the pinnacle of both Houses' expertise, uniting Jean Arnault, Director of Louis Vuitton's Watchmaking Division, and Kari Voutilainen, founder of Atelier Voutilainen — two visionaries bound by a shared passion for independent watchmaking.
