Louis Vuitton and Riot Games pioneer a first-of-its-kind partnership for the League of Legends World Championship.

Through shared values of innovation and pioneering, the historic French Maison and U.S.-based e-sports organisation announce a landmark collaboration. Since its launch in 2009, League of Legends, an online multiplayer game, has grown to become a global phenomenon as the most-played PC game in the world. Every year, Riot Games organises the League of Legends World Championship for the planet’s best players and teams.

For the Championship Finals in Paris on 10th November 2019, Louis Vuitton is creating, in collaboration with Riot, an unprecedented, one-of-a-kind Trophy Travel Case to hold the Summoner’s Cup, the trophy awarded to the world champions and considered the most prestigious prize in e-sports. The bespoke trunk, the first of its kind for an e-sports championship, will feature both traditional Louis Vuitton savoir-faire along with cutting-edge, high-tech elements inspired by the League of Legends universe. In addition to the Trophy Case, Louis Vuitton has designed unique champion skins and a capsule collection designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Women’s collections, along with other League of Legend digital assets.

Louis Vuitton presents the Time Capsule exhibition, a journey through the history of the Maison, opening on 20th September 2019 in Milan.

In this travelling exhibit, Louis Vuitton's story is told through an exclusive selection of one-of-a-kind objects from the Maison's archives, from 1854 to today. Presented as a thematic itinerary, the exhibit celebrates the strong pioneering spirit that has characterised the Maison since its creation 165 years ago. Focusing on four fundamental aspects: inventions, travel, the art of preserving objects and the icons of the Maison, Time Capsule shows just how visionary Louis Vuitton has been in foreseeing travellers’ desires and needs as everyday means of transportation have drastically evolved over time.

For this Italian edition, one of the special pieces on display is "Boîte Milano", a unique trunk made for the International Exhibition of Decorative and Modern Arts of Paris in 1925. Time Capsule Milan also features modern-day objects such as ready-to-wear creations by the current Women's Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière and Men's Artistic Director Virgil Abloh, as well as pieces from Louis Vuitton's Objets Nomades Collection in collaboration with internationally renowned designers such as Patricia Urquiola and Marcel Wanders.
