• GETTING READY WITH LÉA SEYDOUX FOR THE OSCARS

The French actress and Friend of Louis Vuitton shares a behind-the-scenes look of her specially-designed eco-friendly gown by Nicolas Ghesquière for the 2020 Oscars.

To attend her very first Academy Awards ceremony, Léa Seydoux chose to wear a dress that respects the Red Carpet Green Dress’ strict sustainability standards. RCGD is a women-led global change-making organisation founded by leading environmental advocate Suzy Amis Cameron to promote ethical and eco-responsible fashion.

At Louis Vuitton’s Parisian ateliers near the Place Vendôme, the Maison’s couturiers spent over 100 hours draping, drafting, and sewing a sample of the bustier dress before the first fitting. With a fitted body and voluminous skirt, the sustainable gown features a newly launched organic silk faille fabric made from TENCEL™ Luxe filament yarn.

“I think we can also tell stories with what we wear, and in addition to being beautiful, my dress tonight conveys a message.”

  • PERFUMED CANDLES FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

Louis Vuitton’s collection of perfumes for the home offers an invitation to be immediately transported by one’s senses, making them a cherished gift for Valentine’s Day.

Imbued with the spirit of travel that has inspired Louis Vuitton since 1854, the Maison’s collection of perfumed candles were composed in Grasse by the Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud to inspire a dream-like sense of escape.

Like an olfactory snapshot, each candle captures the atmosphere of an inspiring setting and brings it into the home. There, it opens a window onto a singular, exotic world, blurring the lines between interior and exterior, between here and elsewhere: the rose garden of L’Air du Jardin, the secluded island of Île Blanche, a walk in the woods with Feuilles d’Or, the snowy alpine chalet of Dehors Il Neige, a beautiful spring day with En Mai, the leather and wood of Louis Vuitton’s historic ateliers with Ecorce Rouge. This Valentine’s Day, give the gift of a sensory escape, without ever leaving home.
